The National Association of Student Councils (NASC) is the oldest and largest national organization committed to serving middle and high school student councils and the educators who support them. At NASC, we offer programming and opportunities for student council members, advisers, and administrators to connect, grow, and create greater impact in their schools, communities, and beyond.

NATIONAL STUDENT COUNCIL

We are excited to announce that Pennsylvania is one of the states that has been selected to choose delegates for the 25-26 School Year. Pennsylvania will submit 2 names this year to NASC, and one of those students will be selected to serve. Please note that there are VERY specific requirements that apply to the state representatives we choose. 

  1. The school must be a member of PASC & NASC (formerly NatStuCo) for the 25-26 school year. Dues must be paid by June 1st to both of these organizations so that we can ensure we are selecting an eligible candidate.

  2. Candidates must be a rising junior or senior.

  3. Candidates must have been an active member of their own student council for 2 years.

  4. Candidates must be able to travel to Washington D.C. or other major U.S. cities on their own (advisors will not attend with them)

  5. Candidates must participate in 9 virtual meetings and 1 in-person event.

 

We will  not be limiting the number of applicants per school, but all applicants require principal, advisor and parental support. If more than three candidates apply from the same school, we will reach out to the advisor for their input and prioritization of candidates.

 

Applications are due by Thursday, May 1, 2025 and must include all required items. Up to 6 finalists will be selected for the interview process, which will take place in mid-May. We will select 2 names to submit to NASC by May 31, 2025. NASC will make the final selection by the end of June, and that student will be asked to join the PASC Executive Board for the duration of their term.
